Creating Beautiful Homes with Daffodil
Fiona
How did you get into your line of work?
I’ve always loved renovating homes — the planning, the mess, the transformation, all of it. I’d happily move walls, redo kitchens, and start again just for the journey. After one too many renovations at our own place, my husband finally said, “Maybe you should do this for someone else and stop pulling our house apart!” And that was the lightbulb moment — and somehow, I managed to convince Cath it was a fab idea!
What lessons has your work life taught you?
I’ve learned that priorities shift as life does — careers, kids, chaos, calm. But no matter the stage, it always comes back to people. If you’re surrounded by genuine people, you’re winning… no matter the job title.
What’s your favourite way to spend a weekend?
A perfect weekend for me is spending some quality time with my boys, hanging out with friends, experimenting with something new in the kitchen, and if there’s any time left, indulging in a really good book in the sun!
When you look back on 2026, what are the things you want most to say you did?
I want to look back and say I said yes more than I said no — tried new things and stepped outside my comfort zone. If I can do 12 new things this year, I’ll be very happy with that!
What’s your favourite quote and why?
Richard Branson said, “Love what you do and do what you love,” which is sometimes hard to remember — but when you do, it’s fun and so rewarding.
Cath
How did you get into your line of work?
An obsessional interest in all things to do with interiors, homes, and creating beautiful, welcoming spaces… and because Fiona asked me to join her on this journey. We have worked together in many different roles and capacities over the past 15 years, and she is the best to work with!
What lessons has your work life taught you?
It’s all about the people! It doesn’t matter what you do—if you are surrounded by great people, it’s going to be a great day.
What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend?
A long lunch or lazy coffee with my husband, adult kids, or one of the girls.
When you look back on 2026, what are the things you want most to say you did?
Our upcoming trip to Mexico, and committing to my personal pledge of 10,000 steps each day, even in terrible weather.
What’s your favourite quote and why?
“Sprinkle kindness like confetti and make today so awesome yesterday gets jealous,” because the world can never have too much kindness.
